Swedish Museum and Lunch of the Month at Penrose Diner
Wednesday, Sept. 13, 10 AM
American Swedish Historical Museum, 1900 Pattison Ave. [Google Map]; followed by Penrose Diner, 2016 Penrose Ave. [Google Map]
Join us at the American Swedish Historical Museum in FDR Park. We’ll wander the permanent exhibits to learn the stories of Swedes in American – from Viking times through the New Sweden Colony on the Delaware, up to modern times. And we’ll check out the special exhibit, Radically Marimekko.
Afterward, we’ll head over the iconic Penrose Diner for an early lunch. The Penrose is known for classic diner fare, sassy waitresses, and its own bakery. Most all-day breakfasts are around $10, sandwiches, burgers, and the Wednesday Special – beef Burgandy – are around $15.
Please register online or at 267-444-4507 (voice or text, M-F, 9-6), so we know how many to expect, and so we can tell you if plans change.
Members and their guests. Museum is $10; pay for your own lunch. Registration required.
