Falls Library, 3501 Midvale Ave.
Carol Beam is an avid traveler, photographer, and birdwatcher. In January she presented a fascinating Zoom program for East Falls Village on “Birds of Ecuador & More: Life at Middle Earth.”
Since then, she traveled to South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Namibia on a Road Scholar trip with four other birders and will share photos and stories from this trip at an in-person program at the Library!
“Every day was extraordinary, with fantastic birding plus some exciting close encounters with wildlife. We were charged by a bull elephant, had a wild mongoose join us for drinks, and had some of the most dangerous animals in Africa grazing on our lawn after dinner. We were totally safe – and would not have traded even one minutes of it.”
Carol is a resident of the Hill at Whitemarsh, where she is regularly seen photographing birds and other wildlife. Her neighbors love opening an early morning email to find a photo of birds, baby foxes, or other local animal.
This free program is open to all – no registration necessary!
