Home to over a million extraordinary artifacts and archaeological finds from Africa, Asia, the Americas, and the Mediterranean, the Penn Museum has been uncovering our shared humanity across continents and millennia since 1887.  We will wander its galleries (and gift shop). 

We'll be sure to check out the newly redesigned Eastern Mediterranean Gallery, with 400 artifacts from the Penn Museum’s own excavations throughout the Eastern Mediterranean, ranging from the Middle Bronze Age to the 1800s. Peer inside a cargo hold modeled after a wrecked 14th-century BCE Mediterranean ship, filled with pottery vessels and objects of bronze, copper, faience, glass, and ivory—evidence of international trade.

Please pay for your own ticket ($16 for seniors); we'll email you with payment details shortly before our visit.  Parking is limited and expensive, so we'll take the train from East Falls Station.   We can share Lyft or Uber to return (about $25 for up to three to the same destination), or stay for lunch and take the 12:49 train back to East Falls.

Accessibility: Some galleries are reached by steps; ask staff if you need to use a lift.  Accessible from Penn Medicine (University City) train station.  Big steps up to train at East Falls Station, and steps in tunnel to platform.
