Jefferson University Ravenhill Campus Tree Walk, with Arborist Teddy Pickering

Ravenhill, now part of the Jefferson campus, was once the estate of one of the richest man in Pennsylvania. Trees a century old still grace the grounds, with younger trees continuing the heritage of the estate. Our guide, Jefferson alum Teddy Pickering, will tell us about the beautiful assortment of trees on this special campus walk.

Getting there: There is no parking available on campus. If driving, park on Apalogen Road (right side only) or in the cul-de-sac.
You may also park near the Falls Library and enter the Ravenhill Campus through the parking lot on Calumet (behind the library). Walk up the parking lot, past the design studios. When you get to the main road, turn left at the Chapel.
Format OK
This weeping beech tree, many yards wide, has been a children's hideout, a shelter from the rain, and perhaps the venue of a tryst or two.
