About this event
Summer Gathering
Sunday, June 8, 3 to 5 pm
Memorial Church of the Good Shepherd
3820 The Oak Road
We will gather first in the church sanctuary to recognize members In Memoriam, new members, and highlight upcoming programs. Our guest speaker will be Kimberly Mollo, Associate Professor of Occupational Therapy at Jefferson University.
The Gathering will showcase this year’s Client Educator Project with Jefferson OT and Industrial Design students. This was the third year for this unique collaboration between EFV members and Jefferson students.
A team of students interviewed their Client Educator and then designed and fabricated a device to help the client with a task. Some of the difficulties the EFV Client Educators had were carrying things up and down steps, kneeling to garden, putting on a backpack, emptying a deep washer, and moving heavy planters.
The teams came up with some very innovative solutions – as you will see in the poster that each team created.
For the social hour, we will move to the parish hall to enjoy the wine and cheese and to view some of the posters from this year’s projects and talk with our Client Educators.
Rosemarie DiStefano is pictured here with the poster about her assistive device, the ScoopMate (to get clothes out of a deep washer – not for kitty litter!)
