Meet at the Barmouth Trailhead; turn right on Leverington Mill Rd. from Belmont Ave. just past West Laurel Hill Cemetery [Google Map]
Fine weather for a walk (we hope) this Thursday. Join us for a walk along the Cynwyd Heritage Trail This trail, wide, paved, and nearly flat, follows the former rail line from Manayunk to Cynwyd Station. A while ago, we walked the section from Belmont Avenue to Manayunk, over the Manayunk Bridge. This time, we'll walk the other section. It's 0.8 miles each way.
Some of us may wish to stop for a late breakfast at Platform Z in the old Cynwyd Station (Asian fusion, coffees, a few breakfast items). Others will want to turn around and go to Mama's Pizzeria (no pizza! Just steak sandwiches) near our starting point.
We walk most Thursdays, weather permitting, either around the neighborhood or farther afield. If you would like to receive emails about our walks, send your name to marshRRR@gmail.com.
Accessibility: 1.6 miles of easy walking on a nearly flat paved path. Everyone walks at their own pace. There may be benches along the way.
