About this event
Goschenhoppen Folk Festival Canceled (sort of!)
We won't be having a Village meet-up at the Goschenhoppen Festival - it's just too far away for many of us. But do attend on your own or with friends. The forecast is for cooler weather
Friday, August 9, Noon to 8 PM; Saturday, August 9, Noon to 6 PM. Rain or shine
The Henry Antes Plantation, 318 Colonial Road, Perkiomenville PA. See [Directions] - site can be accessed only from Rte. 73!
What is Goschenhoppen? It's the Pennsylvania German area around the Upper Perkiomen Creek Valley, with a history predating the Revolution. In the 60’s a group of historians formed to preserve the disappearing legacy of the area, and the folk festival grew from that. This is its 56th year and it is a big event, with 500 volunteers. There are craft exhibits, music, and lectures. And food. Click here to learn more about the festival.
Getting there: Expect a one-hour drive. The site, 318 Colonial Road, Perkiomenville, can be accessed only from Rte. 73, during the event; see Directions and parking information here. Google Maps might not know of the road restriction.
Accessibility: Expect lots of walking and standing, possibly with limited sitting and resting! The ground may be uneven.
Everyone welcome. $15 plus parking donation (cash only). No Village registration.
