Dotty Brown, a former reporter and editor for the Inquirer, is an avid rower and member of the Vesper Boat Club. In preparation for writing Boathouse Row, she spent three years of researching the archives of each boathouse. She focuses on the history of rowing, which was once the spectator sport if its time, and “waves of change”- as people of different classes, races, and genders fought for access to rowing. She will also talk about the influence of East Falls and the Kelly Family. Her book contains over 160 photographs, many in full color. She will show many of them in her Zoom slide talk, and will answer questions after her presentation.
Please register in advance so we can email you the Zoom link. Register online or call 267-444-4507 (M-F, 9-6). It's not too late if you didn't register. Click here just before 7 PM on Wednesday to join.
