There are many benefits of mindfulness/meditation for older adults. In general, meditation helps the breath and heart rate slow, the blood pressure and tension decrease, and digestive function improves. Meditation is a way to calm the mind and body, relax and pay little attention to thoughts as they drift in and out of your mind. There are many ways to practice mindfulness.
In this sample session, Lillian Rozin will discuss several types of meditation and lead us through the basics of mindfulness. Lillian teaches the yoga classes for East Falls Village and also teaches meditation.
