Help Children to Read!

Join us at Mifflin School to encourage children to read.
Two ways to help:

Read to Me!

One morning a month, we read to small groups of children.  Watch the Events Calendar or Weekly Update for details. Clearances are required--see below.

School Library Project

Mifflin School has been without a librarian for years.  We now staff the library for two mornings a week--Monday and Friday, 9 to 11-- reading to children and helping them pick out books.  Clearances are required--see below.  Click here to volunteer to staff the library

About child abuse clearances

We require participants in these programs to obtain clearances. If you've lived at your current address for at least 10 years, a child abuse clearance and State Police records check are required.  An FBI fingerprint report is also needed if you've been here less than ten years.
