The State of Medical Aid in Dying in the State of PA
Thursday, January 22 at 7 pm
Via Zoom
Everyone welcome. Free. Registration required.
Heather Pope, Pennsylvania Campaign Manager with the non-profit Compassion & Choices, and State Rep. Tarik Khan discuss what end-of-life healthcare options are currently available in the state and efforts to increase options.
Compassion & Choices is working to expand the range of end-of-life choices accessible for Pennsylvanians in their final moments.
Rep. Khan is a Certified Nurse Practitioner and is a key proponent of "compassionate aid in dying" legislation in Pennsylvania.
New Jersey is one of twelve states that currently allow physicians to assist terminally ill patients in ending their own lives. In New York, Gov. Kathy Hochul just signed a bill, which will go into effect later this year.
Attendees will leave with a better understanding of MAID and how they may support efforts to authorize the option for qualifying patients in Pennsylvania.
This is a program in our Life & Legacy series dealing with end-of-life issues.
Please register on line or email info@eastfallsvillage.org so we can send you the Zoom link, the day before the event and the day of the event.
