Mt. Vernon CemeteryFounded in 1856, Mount Vernon joined other “rural” cemeteries in northwest Philadelphia. Among its notable residents are members of the Drew and Barrymore theatrical families. By the 21st century, it had become abandoned, but is now under conservatorship. Historian Brandon Zimmerman, a leading activist in the current restoration effort, will present an illustrated lecture and update on progress.
