DeLissio to host 117th Town Hall on May19
The meeting will be held virtually and in person

PHILADELPHIA, May 6 – State Rep. Pamela A. DeLissio, D-Montgomery/Phila., will hold her 117th Town Hall in person and virtually at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 19.

The in-person meeting will be held in the Wolcoff Auditorium of the Roxborough Memorial Hospital, 5800 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia, 19128. Plenty of free parking is available in the Jamestown Lot or along the nearby streets. For public transportation, use bus route 9.

“The meeting will be also held over Zoom and Facebook Live and I look forward to offering my constituents this town hall in person and virtually,” DeLissio said.

To participate by Zoom, register by 3 p.m. Thursday, May 19 using this link.

After registration, Zoom login information will be sent.

Individuals may also email RepDeLissio@pahouse.net and a registration link will be sent. Once someone is registered, Zoom login information will be sent.

The town hall will focus on the initiative and referendum process.  The terms initiative and referendum refer to processes that allow citizens of states to vote on particular pieces of legislation.

The initiative process allows citizens to propose a new statute or constitutional amendment.

The referendum process allows citizens to refer a law that passed the legislature to the ballot for voters to decide whether to uphold or repeal the law.

“In 26 states, a statewide initiative and/or referendum process is available to citizens. PA is not one of those states,” said DeLissio.

“I welcome all constituents of the 194th to attend, both current and those who will be part of the district as of December 1st,” DeLissio said. “The outcome of redistricting has changed the current district boundaries of the 194th and I am excited to meet and greet new faces at my Town Halls.  New areas of the district include Ward 38 divisions 11 and 18 in East Falls and Ward 9 divisions 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 16, 17 of Chestnut Hill.”

Comments or questions can be posted live or emailed in advance to RepDeLissio@pahouse.net or by leaving a message at 215-482-8726.

This will be DeLissio’s 25th town hall offered virtually since the COVID-19 pandemic outbreak, and DeLissio said it has proven to be an excellent way to continue to converse and share information with her constituents who prefer or are unable to meet in person.
