American Flag: The Power and Passion of the Stars and Stripes
was created by Carla Bednar, as an independent project for the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, of which she is a member through Independence Hall Chapter.

The presentation — part serious and part fun — features a note about Carla’s attachment to the flag, a brief history of it, and its appearance in advertising, politics, protests, music, art, folk-cuisine, fashion, and more.

Inspired by the book, Long May She Wave, by graphic designer Kit Hinrichs and writer Delphine Hirasuna, it includes spectacular images of flag memorabilia by photographer Terry Heffernan.

The presentation was awarded First Place Outstanding Independent Project in the Patriotism category by the Pennsylvania State Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, for 2021.

Carla is delighted to share this program with East Falls Village.

Be sure to join her Zoom presentation.  Please register here on line, or at 267-444-4507 (M-F- 9-6) so we can send you the Zoom link.
