Philadelphia is getting new voting machines for the first time since 2002. They will be in use in the November 5 General Election.
Drop in anytime from 1 to 3 pm to see how they work – and to “vote” for your favorite local sports star or personality and some interesting Ballot Questions!
The new machines, touchscreen ExpressVote XL, will allow voters to mark their selections, to type in a write-in candidate (“personal choice”), to review their ballot before pressing the VOTE button. The machines produce a verifiable paper ballot that can be audited easily. The screen can be switched from English to Spanish, from black type on a white background to white type on a black background, can enlarge type if needed. All voters are welcome.
