Understanding Medicare and the Open Enrollment Period

Do you know the Annual Open Enrollment Period for 2026 is October 15 – December 7, 2025? During this time, you can change your Medicare plan. This is especially important if your current Medicare plan will stop covering one or more of your prescriptions – or will increase the cost of the drug(s) that you will have to pay out of your pocket.
Joan Adler of PA MEDI will show how to use the Medicare website to compare coverage of the various Medicare plans available in Philadelphia. She will explain how PA MEDI, a free Medicare counseling from the state, can help you compare plans if you are not comfortable using the computer.
She will explain the difference between “original Medicare” and Medicare advantage plans and will answer any questions from the audience members.
This program will be useful to anyone who will be going on Medicare in the next year and family members of people who are currently on Medicare.
