Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia
Wednesday, August 14, 6:30 pm
Falls Library
Several East Falls Village members heard a presentation on Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia by Corinne O’Connell, CEO and East Falls resident, and were so impressed that we decided to ask her to make a presentation.
She will talk about the history of Habitat, the impact it has had in Philadelphia, and the need for affordable home ownership and critical home repairs. Her presentation will include pictures of many of the projects in the city – and stories of the grateful families who have become first-time homeowners.
Ms. O’Connell will explain the many ways that people can become involved with Habitat – volunteering to build or restore homes, donating home goods or building materials to Habitat ReStore, shopping there, making a financial donation of any amount, and/or attending the annual PHL Building Hope Luncheon.
She has worked in the field of affordable housing for twenty years (ten at Habitat PHL, two as CEO). She has lived in East Falls for almost six years.
